Spring Break Projects


6th Grade: Read The Great Pyramid at Giza, Tomb of Wonders. There will be a quiz on your reading on Tuesday, 13 April.

8th Grade: Read Chapters 7, 8, 9, & 10 in When Plague Strikes. There will be a quiz on comprehension on Tuesday, 13 April.

9th Grade: The thesis statement and outline for your Term 3 research paper are due in my box on Monday, 12 April.

10th Grade: 1. The thesis statement & outline for your Term 3 research paper are due on Monday, 12 April. 2. Your Boston powerpoint projects are due on Thursday, 22 April.

9th & 10th Grades: See blog for 19 March for your topics.

6th, 8th, 9th, & 10th Grade Spring Term Projects

6th Grade: Work on the Powerpoint presentations or slide shows of the topic you researched in your ancient history report.

Requirements:
1. 5-7 slides required, no more, no less.
2. You title slide does not count in the number of slides.
3. Your main points must be made in bullet points.
4. Use pictures & maps to enhance your presentation.
5. Minimum 4 bullet points per page.
6. Your presentation may not exceed 5 minutes.
7. Presentations are due on the day they are assigned. If you are sick or not in school on your assigned day, please bring a note from a parent. Your presentation will be due the 1st day you return to school.
8. This is a Summative Assessment.

Homework Assigned on Friday, March 12

6th Grade: If you have not turned in the Final Drafts of your paper, with the bibliography attached, 1st draft with corrections attached, & outline with corrections attached, you are late. The absolute latest I will accept these is Monday! Remember, presentation is a part of Criterion D, so a nice folder & neat work are a very good thing. ALL papers must be typed.

8th Grade: Read pages 289-293, The Incas. Learn any new words you cannot define. Become familiar with the rise of the Inca Empire, roads & messengers, & Incan class structure.

9th Grade: Locate sources at home & in Cedar library, if any, for your Term 3 research paper. Bring them in on Tuesday.

10th Grade: Read page 115-125, "Life in a German POW Camp. Answer questions 1-3, page 125.

Homework Assigned on Wed, March 10

6th Grade: Final draft of papers due no later than Friday.
>Be sure to attach your 1st draft with my notes on it, your outline, and your bibliography-MLA format-yes, even for one book, to the final draft.
>Remember that Criterion D is Organization AND Presentation - therefore, a cover or nice folder would be most appropriate. All final drafts are required to be typed.
>Please see me if you need help!

8th Grade: Final drafts of research papers are due no later than Friday.

10th Grade: Read page 73-81, "The Battle for Stalingrad," in World War II. Answer questions 1-5 on page 81 in complete, well thought out sentences.

6th Grade: Make all the corrections on the first draft of your term paper & hand in no later than Friday! See me at lunch or after school if you have additional questions.

8th Grade: Final draft term paper due no later than Friday.

Please note: Any final drafts of your papers handed in after the Friday deadline will be counted as incomplete & there will be no chance to do further work on them, and you will be graded only on your 1st draft & outline, so do get them in on time!
