1. Fully examine four different religious or cultural ideas, inventions, practices, etc. from either India, Korea, or China that influenced Medieval Japanese, Heian period (794-1185 CE), culture.
2. Examine how Buddhism influenced Japanese culture and religion, particularly that of the Samurai. In doing so, be sure to look at the rules called Bushido, the four noble truths, and how Buddhism applied to the samurai's daily life.
3. Be able to compare and contrast the main aspects of Aztec religion with those of Inca religion. Be able to identify the main gods, the main functions of priests, sacrifice, and importance in daily life.
4. Fully examine at least two of the main sources of conflict between the Aztecs and the Spanish, such as religion and warfare. How did each group reacts to the other, with what results?
5. Be able to discuss at least two main reasons why the Spanish defeated the Aztecs, including disease, superior weaponry, horses, etc.. Then explore the possibility of the Aztecs defeating the Spanish if there had not been the disease factor.
6. Compare and contrast the most important achievements of "your" explorer with those of another explorer. Be able to discuss which you feel made the more important contribution to history, European exploration, etc..
